Within Your Reach

Yesterday was the highest Mega Millions Jackpot in U.S. history. The winnings of this jackpot reached a high of 1.6 billion dollars. Needless to say just about everyone and their momma were playing to win. My sister and I even played.....because...why not?! If anybody had a shot at winning, then why not us?! Tonight, as I dreamed about how I would spend this cash, I wondered how many other christians decided to play to win this Mega Millions Jackpot. Im sure we weren't the only Christians praying to win that money. Isn't it funny how we can have the faith to win a jackpot that has odds of 1 in 300 million yet we lack the faith to launch a simple business plan, or write a well written book. The odds are actually much more favorable that a person could have a million dollar idea vs. winning a jackpot of this size. Why is it that we can have the faith to win millions but lack the work ethic to earn it? As I laid in bed, and thought about the amazing business I would develop with that much money, it quickly came into my mind that even if I didn't win it through the lottery, there are still ways to work for it in real life. If the bible clearly says, " For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly." It seems we all are quick to talk about the good things we would do if we were to win, but lack the initiative to even get started on the profitable vision God has already given to us. Even with 1.6 billion dollars a person would need to strategize on how to navigate such a large amount. What taxes would need to be paid? What rules would need to be followed to manage and invest? What's the best way to truly help those who you desire to support? Even as an overnight billionaire, work would be required to manage such wealth successfully. Whether its easier to execute a business plan with a slow grind or win a jackpot overnight, the fact still remains, that its all within your reach... The real question becomes, what are you willing to do, to attain it? Are you willing to walk uprightly? Are you willing to work for it?
